En savoir plus
This rPET recycled polyester PUL fabric is lined with an ultra-thin, waterproof membrane with high breathability.
We design this fabric according to a very strict specification. We offer the only PUL fabric on the market meshed with GRS certified recycled polyester rPET and equipped with a GRS certified membrane itself.
It is also suitable for food contact.
What is waterproof PUL fabric?
PUL stands for “laminated polyurethane”. The medical industry designed this fabric because of its resistance to repeated washing and sterilization processes using hot steam.
How do we design our waterproof PUL?
The polyester fabric has been coated with a healthy and certified polyurethane film using a unique thermal process without toxic solvents.
This film benefits from a GRS certification as 40% of it come from pre-consumer recycling. This means that it incorporates production “breakages”, manufacturing scraps, trimmings, cuts … In short, the waste generated by the production itself.
The assembly of rPET GRS polyester fabric and GRS polyurethane membrane can be recycled.
Is the PUL fabric certified for food contact?
It meets the rules defined by European regulation EC 10/2011 concerning plastic materials and objects intended to come into contact with foodstuffs.
You can easily upload the aptitude report drawn up by the independent laboratory Intertek in the specific tab of technical information.
Our recycled polyester rPET PUL fabric is perfect for making “zero waste” accessories.
Why is La PandaLove Fabrics waterproof PUL fabric different?
The PUL from La PandaLove Fabrics beyond coming from recycled bottles also has the huge advantage of being a real fabric.
It is very flexible, very soft, stretchy and does not “squeal” unpleasantly like bed sheets for example.
This thin PUL dries very quickly and is suitable for projects intended for repeated and frequent washing at 60°C.
Due to its vaporizing properties, moisture will not pass but heat will escape. This fabric has very good resistance properties.
How to prepare the waterproof PUL fabric before sewing it?
A protective and hygienic film covers the back and the membrane of your PUL.
Therefore, you must remove it before sewing your project. You can do this in two ways:
The film will separate from the PUL at the first wash, recommended before sewing.
If you do not wash your fabric before sewing it, it is necessary to remove the film as a sticker. You can stick a piece of tape on it so you have a grip and simply pull on it.
Handling is thus very easy, in fact, here is the link with the video explanation: https://youtu.be/jeBZYl6L8hk
We print this PUL fabric in our workshop according to the patterns chosen from our library or according to the ones you want.
